Our History
We’re doing things at Moonrise Distillery like they’ve been done since the early 1850s. While at times it seems like an old-fashioned, inefficient process, our use of tried and true methods and time consuming double-distillation removes impurities for a more refined and complex craft spirit. And unlike most distillers, we let our spirits tell us when they are ready - aging by taste and not by time.

As a family operation Our founding principles have always been to use the best ingredients available, local wherever possible, traditional tradecraft without compromise, and to treat everyone like family. Distilling is a science and blending is an art. It takes a comprehensive understanding of science, a dedication and commitment to traditional tradecraft and the relentless pursuit of quality to craft world class spirits.
As artisans we focus equally on the 40% "science" of distilling and the 60% "art" of barrel aging and blending. Motivated by quality we reject all alcohol that does not assure a smooth and healthy experience for our customers.

Our unique Vodka was awarded a Gold Medal at the 2019 Georgia Trustees Wine and Spirits Competition. The annual event celebrates the top producers of wine and spirits across Georgia
Our distillation method, exceptional local ingredients and focus on quality produces an extremely smooth vodka with a wonderful mouth feel and lacks the typical bite of mass produced vodka.
Our goal is to create vodka with a rich texture and mouth feel that is more pleasing and viscous to the palate. You will find this vodka to be quite comfortable in a glass alone with ice.

Our Gin is created from a special herb bill of 14 unique botanicals. A special process combines two traditional methods of making Gin to produce a unique kaleidoscope of flavors and aromas.
Our botanical Gin combines the best of floral and fruit with the right amount of earthy nuts and spices to have exceptional body without overpowering Juniper pine tree notes.
The discerning palate may discover our signature notes derived from the peels of Ruby Red pink grapefruit.

Sample our award winning craft spirits and ready to drink craft cocktails in our Tasting Bar. Select from three flight options, each offering five of our craft spirits, ready to drink cocktails and cordials. Select the Whiskey Flight, the Specialty Flight, the Cocktail Flight or try a couple.
Select from our standard distillery tour or our Master Distillery experience. Each offer a guided tour of our facility while sampling from our award winning product portfolio. Barrel House Cocktail Bar & Event Center
Our 22,000 square foot facility can host events up to 200 people. The unique setting of a mountain distillery offers a wonderful backdrop to your holiday, corporate or family event.
Email or call us today for information, available dates and to set up a visit. Groups of 30 or less are $500 and over 30 is $1,000. Price includes use of the facility and a bartender for up to 4 hours. We have worked with many catering companies and can help coordinate lodging and transportation. We offer a truly unique event experience.
